Do you have a wellness program where you work? Any focus on or conversation about wellness counts!

If you do, when was the last time you took inventory on how it was going? Maybe things are rolling right along, or perhaps you’ve hit a few bumps in the road. Regardless, it’s always nice to shift things up to the next level.

If you don’t have a wellness program, why not? Have you struggled to get leadership buy-in? Or maybe you don’t think you have the budget or the manpower.

Whether you’re working to improve your current wellness program or potentially to create a new wellness program, it doesn’t have to be super tough to do. In fact, worksite wellness can be easy as ABC!

…see what I did there? Activate Buffalo County.

This year, we re-designed our community-wide worksite wellness membership program. The membership is still open to all Buffalo County businesses, and we’re still partnering with some awesome local wellness champions to bring it to you.

So while the format is still the same, the membership has grown quite a bit! As a coalition, we will still provide you with educational materials and training. On top of that, worksite wellness members of Activate Buffalo County will also have access to expert resources throughout the community.

If you choose to become a member this year, those resources are perks available to both your company as a whole, and each of your employees. You have the opportunity to bring experts into your workplace to provide training, discussions and services to your employees. Your employees will also have access to great discounts on healthy events and services out in community.

The wellness perks available to Activate Buffalo County members are designed to be an extra motivator for your employees. They provide one more push to make the healthy choice because it’s simpler or cheaper than the unhealthy choice.

Now we know that many of our local businesses already have wellness programs at work. That’s why we’ve designed this program to be the icing on the cake (pardon the unhealthy reference!).

It’s a great supplement to anything you’re already doing for wellness at work. Some of the perks can serve as extra incentives, while others might spark challenges or focus areas in your wellness program. It can be tacked right on top of whatever you’re doing for wellness at work.

If you don’t have a wellness program, don’t worry! The best first step toward building a wellness program is starting the conversation about health and wellness at work. Becoming an Activate Buffalo County member gives you that opportunity.

You’ll be able to bring experts in to discuss things like nutrition and exercise. You’ll also be able to encourage employees to care for themselves by taking advantage of the discounted wellness services available to them. Once they get a taste, they’ll want more—and that’s how a wellness program is born!
