Registration is now open for the Light Up the Night 5K walk/run on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Yanney Park in Kearney. This event to raise mental health awareness, is sponsored by Good Samaritan Hospital’s Richard Young Behavioral Health Center. Runners and walkers are welcome and those pre-registered before September 5th will receive a T-shirt. Click here to register.
Check-in for the 5K begins at 7 p.m. with the race starting at 8 p.m. Participants are encouraged to use the south parking area at Yanney Park and make their way to the ERC building for check-in and the race start.
Registration is $20 and includes a t-shirt and glow bracelet and necklace. We will have a DJ, food, prizes, and it will be a great time for you and your family. All profits from the race will go to The Richard Young Foundation and National Alliance for Mental Illness. The Richard Young Foundation serves both adults and youth and is used to provide items (i.e. medication, clothing, and any other basic needs) to both inpatient and outpatient clients. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports, research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.
